Back of House Staff

We are looking for skilled and passionate cooks to help launch an exciting new restaurant concept in downtown Albuquerque. Buds and Beans, a coffee and beer lounge, offers a range of classic comfort foods inspired by global cuisines, with an artisanal local flair. SKILLS

  • Food safety knowledge

  • Ability to stand for long periods

  • Able to lift up to 60lbs

  • Ability to consistently cook written recipes

  • Able to quickly and consistently cook menu items with speed and efficiency accounting for modifiers including preferences and accommodating allergies/intolerances

  • Knife skills

  • Grill/Broiler experience

  • Passion for cooking a plus

  • Refined palate a plus

  • Knowledge of and experience with commercial cooking appliances a plus​

DUTIES

  • Prepping items and ingredients for the day including chopping vegetables/fruit, cleaning/cooking meats/poultry, and preparing various soups, sauces, and desserts.

  • Short order cooking and preparation of menu items to order during breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.

  • Expediting menu items and managing tickets

  • Ensuring that good food safety and health practices are followed at all times by maintaining and monitoring cleanliness, quality, temperature, and proper dating/rotation procedure of all ingredients and held foods.

  • Ensuring that the kitchen, dish pit, and prep areas are organized and clean as you go to facilitate efficiency and a pleasant work environment

  • Working well with a team to ensure that all service goals are met or exceeded

  • Cleaning and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment in a safe manner throughout service and when opening/closing

  • Follow all COVID safety protocols as mandated by the restaurant and the State of new Mexico
